Saturday June 8, 2013
BARELY 24 hours after the meeting of the Nigeria Northern
Governors Forum in Kaduna, what could have been a bloody explosion was averted in the state Friday when men of the anti-bomb
squad of the state Police Command successfully detonated a bomb in the metropolis.
Besides, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Olufemi Adenaike, said the bomb was concealed in a new computer set inside a
carton meant to attract attention.
He explained that the bomb was discovered along Cameroun Road, close to Junction Road, a heavily populated area,
but was successfully detonated without any casualty.
The incident resulted to a heavy traffic jam along the popular Junction Road, with armed policemen,
Nigerian Army and Nigerian Civil Defence taking over the roads leading to the spot.
